Zinc dust is widely used to synthesize active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates, serving as an efficient reducing and purifying agent in Grignard reactions, azo coupling, functional group reduction, dehalogenation, deprotection and similar steps.
