Improves electrical contact between the zinc and the steel and between the flakes; the film is denser and the corrosion path longer.

Zinc flake is the main raw material for zinc flake coatings, both zinc-chromium (Dacromet) and chrome-free zinc-aluminum systems. Compared with spherical zinc dust it offers better hiding power, leafing and barrier properties, and a brighter metallic luster. In the cured film the flakes lie parallel in overlapping layers, improving electrical contact between the zinc and the steel and between the flakes; the film is denser and the corrosion path longer, so less zinc is needed per unit area and the film can be thinner, while barrier protection and corrosion resistance both improve.
The figures are typical values for standard grades and can be tailored to your process. Particle size distribution and chemistry are tested batch by batch, and a test report ships with every delivery.
The standard pack is a sealed steel drum or a woven bag with a plastic film liner, 50 kg net per drum or bag25 kg net per drum; flexible bulk bags of 500 kg or 1000 kg net are also available. We can also pack to any special arrangement a customer requires.
